This guide explains how to configure and connect a BYO Wi-Fi router. BYO Wi‑Fi router availability varies; contact Superloop Smart Communities Support to confirm whether your site allows BYO routers.
In buildings where Superloop provides a full mesh Wi‑Fi service, a strong wireless network is already available. Because of this, personal routers may not be necessary and, in some locations, may interfere with the performance of the shared network.
To maintain a stable and consistent service for all residents, some buildings do not permit personal routers. In those cases, we may disable such devices to ensure network quality for everyone.
If your building allows the use of personal routers, please follow the steps below for correct setup.
Wall port → Router WAN portUse an Ethernet cable. Use the WAN port, not a LAN port. The WAN port is usually colour‑coded and will automatically get an IP from the Superloop network. If it doesn’t, check the router’s manual.
Connect to the router’s Wi‑Fi network or plug your device into any LAN port.

If your router does not work after setup:
Superloop provides limited support for personal routers, but we can assist with basic checks. For advanced configuration or troubleshooting, please refer to your router’s documentation or the manufacturer’s support team.
We are dedicated to ensuring your connection remains reliable and consistent.
