Connecting PlayStation 4

Overview

Here is a simple method for connecting the PlayStation 4 system to the network. The following procedure describes a typical setup when connecting to the network via WiFi and ethernet.

Power your console on and connect it to our network

  • Wireless: Connect to your building's assigned WiFi SSID (select the open WiFi). See reception if you do not know your building's WiFi SSID.
  • Ethernet (LAN cable): Where available, connect an Ethernet LAN cable directly from your console to the wall port in your room (or the E1/E2/E3 port on your wall-mounted wireless access point).

Add the device to your account

  1. Locate the MAC address of your console
  2. From another device, sign on to the Q2 Portal
  3. Select the "Your Devices" section of the portal.
  4. Add your PS4's MAC Address to the devices on your account.

Test your connection

  1. Test the internet connection on your console.
  2. Your console should now be connected to the internet.

If you are having difficulty, sign in to the Q2 Portal from another device and check that you have an active plan and you are within your usage limit.

Alternative Method

You can also register the device to your account, directly from the console's web browser:

  1. Follow Step 1 above to connect your console to the network.
  2. Open your console's Internet Browser
  3. Visit the web address https://vost.ro/legacy
  4. Enter your username and password for sign-in
  5. Exit the browser and test your connection to the PlayStation Network (PSN)

Please note this login method is offered to support non-standard browsers on legacy devices. The legacy login is very basic and will not display error messages. If your login does not work, use another device to sign onto the Q2 Portal and check your device limit and plan.
