Find your MAC Address - WatchOS (iWatch)

Overview

Use these instructions to help you locate the MAC Address of your Apple Watch.

Method 1: On the Apple Watch (Directly)

This is the fastest way if you have your watch on your wrist.

  1. Press the Digital Crown once to view your apps.
  2. Tap the Settings app (the gear icon).
  3. Go to General > About.
  4. Scroll down using the Digital Crown until you see Wi-Fi Address.
    • The address will look like a series of six pairs of letters and numbers (e.g., A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6).

Method 2: Using Your iPhone (Paired Device)

If you find it difficult to read the small text on the watch screen, you can find the same information on your paired iPhone.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Ensure you are on the My Watch tab at the bottom left.
  3. Tap General > About.
  4. Look for the row labeled Wi-Fi Address.
Important: Private Wi-Fi Addresses (watchOS 7 and later)

By default, modern Apple Watches use a "Private Address" for each Wi-Fi network to prevent tracking. This means your "Hardware MAC" might be different from the "Active MAC" being used by the network.

How to find the active Private Address for a specific network:

  1. On your Apple Watch, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap the name of the network you are connected to.
  3. Scroll down to see the Private Address currently in use.
